Occupiers trapped after fire in Dunbar stair

Cromwell Anchorage, Lamer Street, Dunbar, where a pushchair in a common stair was deliberately set on fire.

Householders were trapped by a fire in a block of six flats in Dunbar.
Firefighters from Dunbar and East Linton raced to Cromwell Anchorage in Lamer Street after the alert was raised at 1.45pm last Wednesday.
Murray Stewart, watch manager at East Linton, said on arrival the crews found the common stair severely smoke logged.
He said three adults and two young children in one of the flats on the first floor, who could not get down the common stair because of the smoke, were standing at an open window breathing fresh air.
